January 1, 2025 - To our clients, colleagues and friends,

It has been two and half decades since we first hung out our shingle as a consulting firm committed to serving the arts community with impactful and affordable counsel.  Working with hundreds of you, many over years and multiple assignments, has been immensely gratifying to say the least and so it is with very mixed feelings that I take this opportunity to announce that we closed our recruiting practice at the end of 2024.

It has been a long and rewarding run for all of us as theater producers, managers and practitioners and a true privilege to work with so many of you who have made significant impacts on the field over the years.  However, the time has come for the next generation to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead and frankly, we are relishing the next phase of our individual journeys, which we anticipate will be filled with a bit more personal time, exercise and sleep… Yes, that’s right, we are joining our younger, groundbreaking colleagues and saying, “No more six or seven-day work weeks or ten out of twelves for this team!”

Some of us, including myself, will continue to teach and occasionally provide strategic support to past clients, if for no other reason than we can’t completely leave the work we love.  Those of you with whom we have worked can reach me with my current email and phone contact information.

Finally, we’d like to offer our gratitude and a big thank you to all who have made the work so rewarding.  The profession is facing unprecedented challenges today and your brilliance, commitment and tenacity to overcome those challenges is nothing short of inspirational. Wishing all you who are engaged in the effort to revive and strengthen our sector the very best and to those who benefit from that work, thank you for your continued understanding and support as a new course is charted into the future.

That experience, coupled with a long history of success in both nonprofit and commercial theatre production, makes us unique among our peers and gives us a fully informed and up-to-the-minute perspective regarding the challenges facing today's arts executives and their boards.
