The award-winning Kansas City Repertory Theatre has initiated a search for its next Artistic Director. KCRep’s Board of Directors intends to identify and engage the successful candidate by late spring/early summer of 2019 with full-time employment to commence as soon as is practicable thereafter.
KCRep, the professional theatre in residence at University of Missouri – Kansas City, is seeking an exceptional artistic leader who will join KCRep’s Board, Executive Director and senior management team to lead the region’s flagship theatre to its next level of artistic success and community engagement.
KCRep’s next Artistic Director will become the company’s Co-CEO in partnership with the Executive Director, both of whom will be employees of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The Artistic Director will report to the Provost and both the Artistic Director and Executive Director will be separately accountable to the KCRep Board of Directors as co-leaders of the company.
The Search Committee is focused on identifying an accomplished director and/or artistic leader whose artistry, organizational leadership skills and commitment to professional training have been in evidence over a significant period. The Artistic Director, in partnership with the Executive Director, will be one of two executive leaders, reporting to and working in concert with the Board of Directors to plan and implement KCRep’s vision for the future.
The KCRep Board and UMKC are seeking candidates with vision, passion and commitment. The committee will look for evidence of professional relationships with a broad and diverse network of established and emerging artists, both local and from the national field, and the ability to attract and retain talented individuals to serve KCRep’s mission and future goals.
